How to Update Your Quickload Database with the Latest CD Version
Quickload is a popular ballistics software that allows you to calculate accurate trajectories, pressures, velocities, and energies for various firearms and ammunition. Quickload comes with a large database of powders, bullets, and cartridges that is constantly updated by the developers. However, if you want to get the most out of your Quickload software, you need to update your database with the latest CD version that contains the newest data.
In this article, we will show you how to update your Quickload database with the CD version 3.8, which is compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10 (64 bit). This version adds new data for over 270 powders and more than 2500 cartridges. It also includes a patch wizard program that enables you to apply patches easily and a patch-and-verify program that checks the integrity of your database.
Step 1: Check Your Current Version of Quickload
Before you update your Quickload database, you need to check your current version of Quickload. To do this, open your Quickload software and click on Help and then About. You will see a window that shows your current version number and the date of your database. If you have version 3.6, 3.7, or early 3.9, you can update your database with the CD version 3.8. If you have an older version, you need to upgrade your software first.
Step 2: Insert the CD into Your Computer
Next, insert the CD version 3.8 into your computer's CD-ROM drive. You will see a window that asks you to run the setup program. Click on Yes to start the installation process. You will see a welcome screen that shows the license agreement. Read it carefully and click on I Agree if you accept it.
Step 3: Choose Your Installation Options
After you agree to the license agreement, you will see a screen that asks you to choose your installation options. You can choose to install the new data only or install the new data and patch your existing database. We recommend that you choose the second option, as it will ensure that your database is up-to-date and error-free.
To choose this option, click on Install New Data and Patch Existing Database. You will see a screen that asks you to select your Quickload folder. By default, it should be C:\\Program Files (x86)\\QuickLOAD-QuickTARGET\\. If you have installed Quickload in a different location, browse to it and select it.
Step 4: Wait for the Installation to Complete
Once you have selected your Quickload folder, click on Next. The installation program will copy the new data files and patch files to your Quickload folder. You will see a progress bar that shows how much time is left for the installation. Wait for it to finish.
Step 5: Run the Patch Wizard Program
After the installation is complete, you will see a screen that asks you to run the patch wizard program. This program will apply the patches to your database and synchronize it with the new data files. Click on Yes to run it.
You will see a window that shows the patch wizard program. It will automatically detect your database file and show its name and location. Click on Patch Database File. The program will start patching your database file and show you a log of its actions.
Step 6: Run the Patch-and-Verify Program
After the patch wizard program is done, you will see a screen that asks you to run the patch-and-verify program. This program will check if your database file is patched correctly and if there are any errors or inconsistencies in it. Click on Yes to run it.
You will see a window that shows the patch-and-verify program. It will automatically detect your database file and show 061ffe29dd
